This study examined the feasibility and standardized test of crystallization of the tear (TCL), to assess the quality of the tear film of dogs in order compared to the Schirmer Test Lacrimal (TLS), a more accurate diagnosis of the types of CCS. Clinical signs of one hundred and ten eyes of dogs were evaluated with the direct ophthalmoscope and all were submitted, in order, the TLS and TCL. The pictures of MCI were analyzed and classified, according to the model used in human medicine, in I, II, III and IV, five experiments with various investigators regarding the TCL. Due to the difficulty presented in this classification, as in dogs there is a standard equivalent to the human I, a model for the TCL this species was standardized. The realization of this test allowed the early diagnosis of SCC in those animals that maintained normal values in the TLS and still no clinical signs of disease.eng
