dc.description.abstractA guinada histórica na filosofia da ciência tem em Thomas Kuhn (1922-1996) um de seus maiores expoentes. Em sua célebre obra The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, seus desdobramentos, centrados na história, tornaram-se objeto de estudo, quer seja para elucidação e desenvolvimento de suas teses ou para confrontá-las. Se por um lado há um consenso no que diz respeito à importância de Kuhn, em grande medida por sua abordagem histórica, na filosofia da ciência, parece não haver consenso sobre o tipo de história que ele defende. Em The Copernican Revolution, texto de história da ciência publicado em 1957, Kuhn trata da revolução copernicana como um acontecimento plural, tendo ultrapassado o âmbito científico e influenciado a vida social comum. Todavia, os dois ensaios citados fazem parte de um mesmo projeto historiográfico? Há uma interpretação que compreende que o tipo de história utilizado em The Copernican Revolution difere da abordagem que ficou conhecida em The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. Este trabalho visa examinar se esse é o caso, pois não há pronunciamentos feitos pelo próprio Thomas Kuhn com respeito a uma mudança de posição relativa ao tipo de história que defende.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractOtherThe historic turn in the philosophy of science has in Thomas Kuhn one of its greatest exponents. In his famous work The structure of scientific revolutions, his developments, based on history, became an object of study, whether for the elucidation and development of his theses or to confront them. If, on the one hand, there is a consensus regarding the importance of Kuhn, largely due to his historical approach, in the philosophy of science, there seems to be no consensus on the type of history he defends. In The Copernican revolution, a text on the history of science published in 1957, Kuhn treats the Copernican revolution as a plural event, having surpassed the scientific scope and influenced common social life. However, are the two essays mentioned part of the same historiographical project? There is an interpretation that understands that the type of history used in The Copernican revolution differs from the approach that became known in The structure of scientific revolutions. This work aims to examine whether this is the case, as there are no pronouncements made by Thomas Kuhn himself regarding a change of position regarding the type of history he defends.pt_BR
