The toxicity of overal chemical products to Dermanyssus gallinae and Ornithonyssus sylviarum two blood feeding mites, were evaluate "in vitro". The LD 50 the be products were DDVP 39.00 and 32.04 ppm; chlorpirifos 27.01 and 5.35 ppm, alfametrin 406.51 and 58.75 ppm; flumetrin 69.91 and 81.17 ppm; alfametrin plus DDVP 40.87 and 13.69 and amitraz 44.46 and 77.92 ppm, respectively. Triclorfon was only tested against D. gallinae, and its LD50 was 24.67 ppm. The life cycles of D. gallinae and O. sylviarum, were completed in 168 and 144 hours, respectively.eng
