One hundred and, nine pigs were used in various experiments for the evaluation of the efficacy and effect upon weight gain of oxibendazole (methyl 5N-propoxy-2-benzimidaze-carbamate) in animals naturally and experimently infected with Ascaris suum, Trichuris suis, Oesophagostomum spp. and Strongyloides ransomi. The drug was added to the feed in a dose of 15 mg/kg as a single dose and was also used continuously at concentration of 100 ppm for six days, at 15 ppm for 50 and 60 days, and from weaning to slaughter. The results of necropsy of the animals revealed that in treatments with oxibendazole at 15 mg/kg, 100 ppm/6 days and 15 ppm/50 days it was 100% efficacions in removing A. suum and Oesophagostomum spp., and the efficacy a against T. suis was 74,5%, 100% and 80,4% respectively. The results of fecal and cultured examination demostrated that oxibendazole ar 15 ppm produce a reduction of 96,7% in development of A. suum eggs. After 5 days of treatment. The used of oxibendazole in feed at 15 ppm for 60 days as well as from weaning to slaughter, prevent the establishment of adult A. suum and Oesophagostomum spp. the medicated feed reduced the number of animals infected with T. suis and but also the reduced the egg counts of hematode. In all phases of the experiment of production the differences favored the grup that received oxibendazole. In the first initial feed xiii conversion difference between treatments was not significant (P≥0,05), howeven during the growing and finishing phases, wight gain and feed conversion was significant different. The used of oxibendazole in feed at concentration of 15 ppm prevent the infection with A. suum, Oesophagostomum spp., reduce the risk of infection with T. suis and improved the performance of pigseng
