dc.description.abstractEsta dissertação tem como proposta o exame das rotas atlânticas de comércio negreiro para a região norte da América portuguesa, especialmente para a Capitania do Maranhão, durante a segunda metade do século XVIII. Desse modo, procuramos investigar de quais portos africanos provinham os escravos desembarcados em São Luís, bem como apurar o contingente aportado em solos maranhenses. Também, procuramos analisar como as políticas implementadas no Estado do Grão-Pará e Maranhão, na administração do Marquês de Pombal, possibilitaram a inserção em larga escala de mão-de-obra africana no Estado.por

dc.description.abstractOtherThis thesis has as its proposal to examine the slave trade's Atlantic routes to the Portuguese America‟s north region, especially to Maranhão Captaincy, during the second half of the 18th century. So, we sought to investigate from which african ports were dispatched the slaves disembarked in São Luís city, as well as to verify the contingent docked in Maranhão soil. Also, we attempted to analyze in which ways the political procedures implemented in the Grão-Pará and Maranhão state, in the time of Marquês de Pombal administration, allowed the wide scale insertion of the African labour in the State.eng
