Brazil is one of the largest consumers of pesticides worldwide. The use of these chemical compounds in agriculture causes serious problems for the environment, such as contamination of surface water, groundwater and springs used to supply drinking water. The objective of this study was to evaluate the degradation percentage of the pesticides atrazine, chlorpyrifos, malathion, trifluralin, lambda-cyhalothrin, chlorothalonil and trifloxystrobin in surface water, at a concentration of 1ng mL-1 . The methodology is based on a chemical oxidation system with application of ozone at a concentration of 2000mg h-1 , in reaction times of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 minutes, according to the degradation profile of each analyte. For the extraction of pesticides in water, optimization and validation experiments were carried out, by solid phase extraction and subsequent qualitative and quantitative analysis by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry, to verify the percentage of degradation of pesticides. Subsequently, an acute toxicity test was carried out with Artemia salinas, to verify whether the samples showed toxicity even after ozonation. As a result, detection limits between 0.011 and 0.164 ng mL-1 and quantification limits between 0.050 and 0.498 ng mL-1 were observed for the method of analysis of pesticides in water. Degradation by ozonation reached 100% for the pesticides atrazine, chlorpyrifos, malathion, trifluralin and lambda-cyhalothrin, within 20 minutes of reaction, being considered “non-toxic” for Artemia salinas. Trifloxystrobin reached 100% degradation in 120 minutes of reaction and chlorothalonil had the maximum percentage of degradation fixed at 84% in a time of 150 minutes. The trifloxystrobin and chlorothalonil toxicity assay considered the samples to be “toxic” to Artemia salinas. The degradation kinetics results corroborated the acute toxicity test.en
