| dc.description.abstract | O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar alterações cardiovasculares em cães naturalmente infectados pelo parvovírus canino (CPV-2), utilizando exames clínicos, ecocardiográficos, eletrocardiográficos e biomarcadores cardíacos. Foram incluídos 29 cães, sendo 14 saudáveis e 15 doentes, diagnosticados por testes de imunocromatografia. Os cães passaram por avaliações clínicas detalhadas, incluindo aferição de pressão arterial, tempo de preenchimento capilar (TPC) e ausculta cardíaca. Exames eletrocardiográficos e ecocardiográficos foram realizados conforme protocolos padronizados, enquanto os biomarcadores cardíacos, troponina I e NT- proBNP, foram mensurados para análise comparativa. Os resultados demonstraram que os cães infectados apresentaram aumento significativo no TPC (p=0,006), alterações nos linfonodos (p=0,005) e na ausculta cardíaca (p=0,029). O ecocardiograma revelou comprometimento contrátil com redução da fração de encurtamento (p=0,016), redução no gradiente de pressão aórtico (p<0,001) e redução na velocidade do fluxo aórtico (p<0,001). O eletrocardiograma indicou prolongamento do intervalo QTc (p=0,033) e aumento na duração do QRS (p=0,004). A troponina I estava elevada no grupo doente (p=0,014), enquanto os níveis de NT-proBNP permaneceram dentro dos limites normais. Concluiu-se que a parvovirose canina pode causar alterações cardiovasculares significativas, como comprometimento contrátil, risco de arritmias e lesão miocárdica aguda, mesmo na ausência de insuficiência cardíaca avançada. Esses achados ressaltam a importância de integrar avaliações cardíacas no manejo clínico de cães com parvovirose, possibilitando a detecção precoce de complicações subclínicas e contribuindo para intervenções terapêuticas mais eficazes. | pt_BR |

| dc.description.abstractOther | The study aimed to evaluate cardiovascular alterations in dogs naturally infected with canine parvovirus (CPV-2) using clinical, echocardiographic, electrocardiographic, and cardiac biomarker assessments. A total of 29 dogs were included, with 14 healthy and 15 infected, diagnosed through immunochromatographic tests. The dogs underwent detailed clinical evaluations, including blood pressure measurement, capillary refill time (CRT), and cardiac auscultation. Electrocardiographic and echocardiographic exams were performed following standardized protocols, and cardiac biomarkers, troponin I and NT-proBNP, were measured for comparative analysis. The results showed that infected dogs had a significant increase in CRT (p=0.006), lymph node alterations (p=0.005), and cardiac auscultation abnormalities (p=0.029). Echocardiography revealed impaired contractility with reduced fractional shortening (p=0.016), decreased aortic pressure gradient (p<0.001), and decreased aortic flow velocity (p<0.001). Electrocardiography indicated QTc interval prolongation (p=0.033) and increased QRS duration (p=0.004). Troponin I levels were elevated in the infected group (p=0.014), while NT-proBNP levels remained within normal limits. The study concluded that canine parvovirus infection can cause significant cardiovascular alterations, including impaired contractility, increased risk of arrhythmias, and acute myocardial injury, even in the absence of advanced heart failure. These findings highlight the importance of integrating cardiac assessments into the clinical management of dogs with parvovirus, enabling early detection of subclinical complications and contributing to more effective therapeutic interventions. | en |
