The Atlantic Forest is one of the largest and most important biomes in Brazil, home to many endemic species of fauna and flora. However, with rampant urbanization and human activities, these species are increasingly at risk of extinction. Therefore, it is necessary to create conservation areas to ensure the preservation of these species. The Itatiaia National Park, located between the states of Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, is part of the Atlantic Forest and there it is possible to find the cricetid rodent Delomys dorsalis (Hensel, 1873), the object of study of this work. Despite the scarcity of information about the parasitic community of this small mammal, this study allowed us to describe a new species of nematode and redescribe an already known species, updating the knowledge about the helminth fauna of this host. Alippistrongylus itatiaensis (Lemes et al., 2024) was described using integrative taxonomy and characterized by being different from the other two species of the genus, through the pattern of rays present in the male copulatory pouch and the spherical appendage in the female. On the other hand, there was a need to contribute new and more updated taxonomic information on the nematode species Protospirura numidica (Seurat, 1914), adding morphological and molecular data. Thus, integrative taxomony was essential for the description and redescription of species.en
