dc.description.abstractForam estudados 44 cães portadores de Tumor Venéreo Transmissível (TVT), provenientes do município e da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Sendo 20 machos e 24 fêmeas, entre eles: 34 mestiços, 4 Pastores, 3 Pointers, 2 Pequinêses e 1 Collie, com idade entre 1 e 14 anos. Todos os càes foram atendidos no Hospital Veterinário de Pequenos Animais da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. Os càes foram separados ao acaso em 2 grupos (grupo I e II), compostos de 20 e 24 animais respectivamente. No grupo I os càes receberam por via intravenosa 0,025 mg de sulfato de vincristina por kg de peso, uma vez por semana, perfazendo um mínimo de 2 e. um máximo de 6 aplicações. No grupo II, os animais receberam o sulfato de vincristina na dose de 0,025 mg por kg de peso, uma vez por semana, por via intravenosa, associado à prednisona, na dosagem de 1 mg por kg de peso, por via oral, durante 5 dias, em 3 ciclos, com intervalo de 5 dias entre os ciclos. Totalizando um mínimo de 3 e um máximo de 6 aplicações. Foi feito acompanhamento clínico e laboratorial semanalmente. Os resultados obtidos revelaram uma reduçào de 100% da massa tumorál em todos os càes, sem ocorrência de alterações clínicas. □bservou—se que a associaçào da prednisona à vincristina foi desnecessária, uma vez que a diferença entre os grupos I e II foi estatisticamente nào significante.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractOtherIn this study forty-four dogs with transmissible venereal tumour, being 20 males and 24 females, were treated. They were 34 mongrels, 3 Pointers, 2 Pequineses, 1 Collie and 4 Berman shepherd, their ages ranging between 1 and 14 years old, all of them from the Rio de Janeiro municipality and City, Brazil area. All animais were assisted at the Small Animais Veterinary Hospital of the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. The dogs were separated randomly in two groups (groups I and II), composed by 20 and 24 animais respectively. In the group I the dogs received intravenous injection of 0,025 mg/kg of body weight of vincristine sulphate, weekly, in a minimum of 2 and. a maximum of 6 app 1 icat ions» In the group II, the dogs received vincristine sulphate in weekly doses of 0,025 mg/kg of body weight, associate with prednisone in doses of 1 mg/kg of body weight, daily for 5 days, in 3 cycles, followed by rest for 5 days, in a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 app1ications. Clinicai follow-ups and hemograms were done on a weekly basis. The results of this study showed a reduction of 100% of the tumoral mass in all dogs in both groups, with no occurence of clinicai alterations. It can be said that the association of prednisone with vincristine was unnecessary, once the difference between groups I and II was estatistically no significant.en
