The biological behaviour of Anocentor nitens, under dry conditions were evaluated. Engorged females and eggs were kept into dessecators at different intervals under 50 and 30% Relative Humidity (R.H.). After maintenance of each experimental group, in the respective period of time, at intervals of 24 hours, both females and eggs were transferred to a biological chamber, under 80% R.H. and 27 ± 1°C. Engorged females exposed at 50% R.H. during the pre-oviposition period (24 at 504 hours) did not affect significantly (P>0.05) the oviposition process, eggs development, rate of larval eclosion and larval survival period. Engorged females exposed at 30% R.H. at different intervals among 24 to 504 hours did not affect the oviposition process, however, the incubation period of eggs oviposited into dessecators extended with the increase exposition intervals, as well as the eclosion periods. At exposition intervals above 432 hours, the rate of larval eclosion was less than 50%, meanwhile the larval survival was elongated. Eggs exposed at intervals of 24 to 24 hours, until 408 hours, did not suffer influence of low R.H. in relation to egg incubation and eclosion periods. Exposition above 168 hours decreased in the rate of larval eclosion. The incubation period at 30% R.H. was prolonged, and from 48 hours of exposition intervals, larval eclosion was low. The larval survival was not affected by low relative humidity.en
