| pt_BR |

| dc.description.abstractOther | Eighty four specimens of Oligoplites palometa (Cuvier), thirty seven specimens of O. saurus (Bloch & Schneider), and thirty six specimens of O. saliens (Bloch) were collected at the Sepetiba Bay, State of Rio de Janeiro, between March of 1991 and November of 1992, for the study of their metazoan parasites. Ali fishes studied (100%) were parasitized by one or more metazoan species. Eighteen parasite species were found in O. palometa: 5 digeneans, 3 monogeneans, 3 cestodes, 1 nematode, 1 acantocephala, and 5 copepods. In O. saurus, 13 parasite species were found: 5 digeneans, 3 monogeneans, 2 cestodes, 1 nematode, anal 2 copepods. In O. saliens, 13 parasite species were found: 4 digeneans, 3 monogeneans, 1 cestode, 1 nematode and 4 copepods. It was recorded by the first time the occurrence of metacestodes, nematodes and acanthocephalans, parasitizing of fishes of the genus Oligoplites. The following parasite species were recorded from Brasil for the first time: Tergestia pectinata Manter, 1940, Metacamopia sp., Hargicola oligoplites (Hargis, 1957), Caligus rufimaculatus Wilson, 1905, and Tuxophorus caligodes Wilson 1908. Fishes of the genus Oligoplites are a new host record for Bucephalus varicus Manter, 1940, Callitetrarhynchus gracilis (Rudolphi, 1819), Pterobothrium crassicole Diesing, 1850, Scolex sp., Contracaecum sp., Serrasentis sp., Caligus rufimaculatus Wilson, 1905, and Tuxophorus caligodes Wilson, 1908. The digeneans represented the majority of the parasite specimens collected, with 90,34%, 82,19% e 87,67% of the parasite specimens collected in O. palometa, O. saurus, and O. saliens, respectively. The digenean Manteria brachyderus presented the highest importance value, according to the importance values proposed by Bush, in the three hosts species analyzed. The Simpson index was Iow for the three host species, showing absence of concentration for dominance of one parasite species. The Sorenson similarity índex between the three fish species was above 80%. Ali the parasite species of the three host species studied presented the typical overdispersed pattern of distribution, with the exception of the monogenean Hargicola oligophtes in O. saliens and the copepod Caligus bonito Wilson, 1905 in O. palometa, which showed a uniform partem of distribution. Among the parasite species more prevalent (>10%) in O. palometa, tive of them showed positive correlation between the total body length of the host and the parasite abundance. Only the digenean Bucephalus varicus presented negative correlation. In O. saurus, two species showed positive correlation between the total body length of the host and the parasite prevalence, and one nematode presented negative correlation. Two parasite species presented positive correlation between parasite abundance and the total body length of the host. Still in O. saurus, the digenean Bucephalus varicus presented negative correlation. In O. saliens only one copepod showed positive correlation between the total body length of the host and the parasite prevalence. In Oligoplites palometa, the digeneans Manteria brachyderus and Lecithochirium microstomum and the monogenean Hargicola oligoplites showed the influence of the host sex on the parasite abundance. The host sex influenced the prevalence of the digenean L. microstomum and the monogenean Hargicola oligoplites. In O. saurus only two digeneans had their prevalence influenced by the host sex. The three host species showed similar parasite diversity, without correlation with the total body length of the host and without significant differences between males and females. Oligoplites palometa presented orle pair of ectoparasite species positively associated and with positive correlation among their abundances. Oligoplites saurus presented only one pair of ectoparasite species positively associated and with positive correlation among their abundantes. No pairs of the associated species were found in O. saliens, The gastrintestinal tract of the three host species was parasitized along its total extension. The digenean Lecithochinum microstomum was the only species found exclusively in the stomach. The parasite community of Oligoplites palometa, O. saurus and O. saliens was defined as "isolacionist" for presenting few associated parasites, though they occupyed of all sites of infection/infestation available to the parasite. The presence of larval stages of cestodes and nematodes, demonstrated the intermediate levei of the species of the genus Oligoplites in the marine trophic web. | en |
