The treatment of agro-industrial wastewater poses a growing challenge due to the high levels of organic matter, nutrients, and recalcitrant compounds present in these effluents. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the efficiency of an integrated system consisting of microalgae cultivation in photobioreactors followed by ozonation, applied to synthetic dairy wastewater and effluents from the biopesticide and biofertilizer industry. The experiment was conducted in two sequential stages. Initially, the agro-industrial wastewater (dairy and biopesticides/biofertilizers) underwent biological treatment in photobioreactors with microalgae, aiming to remove pollutants and produce biomass. Subsequently, the supernatant obtained was treated by ozonation, using different operational conditions for ozone generation. Throughout the process, physicochemical parameters, biomass growth, lipid extraction, and fatty acid profiles were monitored, in addition to evaluating system performance through laboratory analyses and mass balance. Microalgae cultivation resulted in a significant reduction in organic matter and nutrients, with removals exceeding 90% for nitrogen, phosphorus, and phenolic compounds, in addition to generating biomass with lipid contents ranging from 7.26% (dairy products) to 9.36% (biopesticides/biofertilizers). In the subsequent stage, the application of ozone promoted additional removals, achieving reductions exceeding 90% in color, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand, and biochemical oxygen demand. The integration of microalgae and chemical oxidation demonstrated a synergistic effect, resulting in a final treatment with high clarity and low levels of pollutants. The results indicate that the combination of biological and oxidative processes constitutes a promising alternative for the treatment of agro-industrial effluents, promoting environmental mitigation and the generation of bioproductsen
