Hop (Humulus lupulus L.) cultivation in Brazil is expanding in a challenging climatic scenario, demanding biotechnological solutions that guarantee productivity and phytochemical quality under water and thermal stresses. This thesis investigated the dynamics of the Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) community in the field (Chapter I) and the functional efficiency of selected isolates (Chapter II), aiming at the development of adaptive management strategies. Chapter I analyzed the AMF community in the rhizosphere of hop cv. 'Cascade' under organic management in a tropical Oxisol. The propagule community (22 identified species) was not modulated by doses of Fermented Organic Compound (COF), but rather by the phenological stage of the host, with significantly higher density and diversity in the dormant phase (DP) compared to the vegetative phase. The absence of a dose-response to COF was attributed to the suppressive effect of residual mineral phosphorus (P-background) from the previous cycle. Edaphic attributes (potential acidity and Ca2+) emerged as the main environmental filters determining the niche partitioning of the species. Chapter II aimed to select AMF strains for the hop cv. 'Comet' in a greenhouse, comparing ten isolates from CRB-JD with two commercial inoculants. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) revealed a clear functional dichotomy in resource allocation: the chemical control (Z2) achieved maximum biomass but suffered the Nutritional Dilution Effect (inversion of the Mg, K, Ca hierarchy); in contrast, the AMF promoted metabolic optimization and higher nutritional density. The selection culminated in the validation of elite isolates: RHCL and DEHE were the most efficient in maximizing biomass and vegetative vigor, while ACCO (Acaulospora colombiana) stood out as a ruderal functional strategist, presenting the highest concentration of all foliar macronutrients, but lower investments in biomass due to high sporulation. The results demonstrate that the effectiveness of symbiosis in hops is strongly dependent on the fungal genotype and the edaphoclimatic context. The management of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) should be adjusted to the plant's phenology in the field and prioritize the selection of native strains (CRB-JD) that offer physiological resilience and nutritional quality (ACCO) over the pursuit of immediate massive growth (Z2), providing a crucial biotechnological pillar for the sustainability of tropical hop cultivation.en
