| pt_BR |

| dc.description.abstractOther | Drop-in renewable fuels have attracted increasing attention due to their compatibility with fossil fuels and their potential contribution to the decarbonization of the energy sector. In this study, the catalytic deoxygenation of oleic acid, soybean oil, and castor oil was investigated aiming the production of hydrocarbons within the green diesel and SAF range, using Nb2O5 as catalyst. The reactions were carried out in batch mode, under autogenous pressure and without external hydrogen, with temperatures ranging from 300 to 400 °C and catalyst loading from 5 to 15 wt%. The best performance was observed for oleic acid, which reached 88.86% of deoxygenated hydrocarbons, indicating high selectivity toward the formation of chains compatible with green diesel. Soybean oil showed intermediate performance, reaching up to 86.15% deoxygenation at 350 °C, while lower temperatures favored the formation of carboxylic acids. In contrast, castor oil had the worst performance, with minimum deoxygenation values of 16.61%, maintaining high proportions of acids, ketones, alcohols, and esters even with increased catalyst loading. Overall, 350 °C was the most favorable temperature for hydrocarbon conversion, whereas lower temperatures limited the deoxygenation, and higher temperatures intensified fragmentation pathways. The results demonstrated that process efficiency depends on the chemical structure of the feedstock, the soybean oil as the best one, while castor oil requires additional strategies to maximize drop-in fuel production. | en |
