| pt_BR |

| dc.description.abstractOther | Entomopathogenic fungi are increasingly recognized as multifunctional bioinputs, but evaluating their compatibility with traditional inoculants is essential to enable microbial consortia. This study evaluated Metarhizium–Bradyrhizobium interactions in soybean (Glycine max), integrating laboratory and greenhouse assays. First, Metarhizium anisopliae LCM S04 and Metarhizium brunneum LCM S11 were confronted in vitro with Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens BR 85 (=SEMIA 5080) and Bradyrhizobium japonicum BR 86 (=SEMIA 5079). Subsequently, the microorganisms were evaluated in a greenhouse through direct seed inoculation. Each seed received bacterial culture, fungal suspension, or both, with total volumes standardized across all treatments (including absolute and nitrogen-fertilized controls) using a 0.01% Tween 80 vehicle solution. At 47 days post-inoculation, nodulation, biomass, and root architecture were determined. The in vitro assays demonstrated compatibility between the microorganisms and the absence of inhibition zones, with strain BR 86 standing out for stimulating the radial growth of isolate LCM S04. In the greenhouse, the presence of Metarhizium did not affect nodulation efficiency, fully preserving the rhizobium–legume symbiosis. In terms of vegetative development, BR 85 + LCM S04 consortium promoted gains in plant height and shoot dry weight, whereas BR 86 + LCM S04 interaction enhanced the complexity of root architecture by increasing root length, fine root number, and bifurcations. Additionally, the endophytic establishment of Metarhizium spp. was confirmed in root, stem, and leaf fragments, while its recovery from the substrate attested to the rhizospheric persistence of the isolates. These results expand the understanding of the multifunctional interactions between entomopathogenic fungi and rhizobia in soybean, validating the biotechnological potential of these consortia for sustainable tropical agriculture and justifying future field investigations. | en |
