Twenty one piglets fifty days old and with an average of 9 kg of body weight, Duroc and Landrace breeds were used to study the hepatic lesions caused by migration of Ascaris suum and Stephanurus dentatus larvae. The group of pigs infected with A. suum were inoculated orally twice with an interval of four days, using 3,240 infective eggs each time. The pigs infected with S. dentatus were also inoculated orally using 1,000 infective larvae twice four days apart. Clinical observations were conducted during the study as well as pathological changes at necropsy on days 7, 21, 26, and 56 after the second challenge. Macroscopic and microscopic lesions caused by migration of A. suum and S. dentatus are described. Hepatic lesions following A. suum infections were more severe at day 7 and on day 56 a considerable regeneration was evident. Regarding to S. dentatus infections, the more severe alterations in liver were observed on day 26 and chronical evolution was observed on day 56.eng
