| Abstract: | O artigo analisa a implantação de políticas educacionais durante a ditadura civil-militar no município de Nova Iguaçu, situado na Baixada Fluminense, periferia da região metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro. A metodologia empregada é de estudo bibliográfico, análise documental de legislações federal e municipais e publicações de notícias na imprensa. Foram características do período a modernização econômica conservadora dependente, moralização da sociedade contra a oposição de esquerda e a ampliação da rede privada de ensino. No município de Nova Iguaçu se confirma a tendência de privatização da educação através da criação de fundações educacionais e concessão de bolsas de estudos, robustecendo o ganho dos empresários locais que, também, ocupavam cargos com ingerência pública no governo. |
| Abstract: | The article analyzes the implementation of educational policies during the civil-military dictatorship in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, located in the Baixada Fluminense, on the outskirts of the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. The methodology employed consists of bibliographic research, documental analysis of federal and municipal legislation, and reports published in the press. The period was characterized by conservative and dependent economic modernization, the moralization of society against left-wing opposition, and the expansion of the private education sector. In the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, the trend toward the privatization of education is confirmed through the creation of educational foundations and the granting of scholarships, strengthening the profits of local business owners who also held positions with public decision-making authority in government.
