Trough out one year, from march/84 to february/85, at the field conditions in Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro and using three differents bovine coloured skin, it was studied the behaviour activity, the population changes and the physiological classification of Stomoxys calcitrans female, by the parameters keeped from laboratory conditions. It was showed that there is a diurnal variantion of the populations and an influence of the host skin color on the flies attractiveness independently of the differential weather. ged, unparous initial, unparous final, uniparous, female with two end three layings and female with more than three layings. It was recognised six classes of female: newly-emerAt the natural conditions, the female/male relationship, and parous/unparous females relationship was 1,1:1,0 and 1,6:1,0, respectively. Male and the female population have exibited similar shape during the year, but the number of activy female xxi. on the host was bigger. The femals began to mate when the oocyte was on the end of the 2nd stage and at the end of the 3rd oocitary stage it the fertilization index was 100%.eng
