| Abstract: | Este estudo investigou a fauna de formigas da serapilheira em floresta nativa e plantio de eucaliptos. A diversidade de formigas que nidificam em pequenos galhos mortos foi maior em floresta nativa do que no eucaliptal. A diversidade de galhos presentes na serapilheira da floresta nativa foi maior, havendo uma maior abundância dos tipos mais usados pelas formigas. A riqueza total de formigas encontrada na mata nativa foi de 12 espécies, enquanto que apenas quatro espécies foram encontradas nos plantios. As características da serapilheira e as condições microclimáticas podem ser responsáveis pelas diferenças nas faunas de formigas entre os dois tipos de ambiente. |
| Abstract: | This study investigated the ant fauna living on the litter of native forest and eucalypt plantations. The diversity of twig-nesting ants was greater on native forest than on eucalypt plantations. Native forest had a greater diversity of twig types, mainly of those used by ants. Overall ant richness was 12 species in native forest and four species in eucalypt plantations. The characteristics of litter and microclimatic conditions in native forest and plantations may be responsible for the different ant fauna found on both vegetation types. |
