| Abstract: | The present study aimed to analyze the impact of disordered urban growth in the Jardim Ângela district, São Paulo, and its influence on the conflict between urban forestry and electricity distribution networks. The research, descriptive and exploratory in nature, adopted qualitative and quantitative approaches, involving a literature review, field data collection, analysis of continuity indicators (DEC and FEC) for the Monte Azul complex, and an analysis of the causes of electrical power interruptions. Two hundred trees distributed across ten neighborhoods in the district were evaluated, observing variables such as species, height, size, diameter at breast height (DBH), structural defects, degree of interference with the power lines, type of electrical network, compatibility with the sidewalk, and management recommendations. The inventory results indicated the prevalence of the species Ficus benjamina, which represented 22.5% of the total. It was found that 37% of the inventoried trees presented some type of conflict with the power lines, with Ficus benjamina responsible for 19% of these cases – a reflection of the absence of urban planning and the inadequate choice of species for the environment. The predominance of conventional overhead networks was also confirmed, which increases the risks of short circuits, power supply interruptions, and structural damage to trees. The analysis of the DEC and FEC indicators for the Monte Azul complex revealed levels above regulatory limits, further demonstrating that the quality of electricity service in the city of São Paulo is not homogeneous. Peripheral regions, such as the Jardim Ângela district, present the worst indices. It is concluded that the main factors responsible for the conflicts are the lack of integration between the environmental and energy sectors, spontaneous planting carried out without technical criteria, and the absence of public policies focused on tree management. The balance between urban forestry and electrical infrastructure in Jardim Ângela depends on the implementation of integrated and participatory urban planning, capable of promoting both energy efficiency and environmental preservation. |
