| Abstract: | O presente trabalho estudou a importância do método IDEA (Indicadores de Sustentabilidade em Propriedades Agrícolas) como recurso didático-pedagógico para introdução da agroecologia entre produtores familiares no município de Rio Pomba, MG. Esse método trabalha com indicadores de sustentabilidade nos eixos agroambiental, sócio-territorial e econômico e baseia- se em um enfoque participativo, mediante o qual se promove a discussão e retroalimentação entre avaliadores e avaliados (alunos, extensionistas, dentre outros e produtores rurais), permitindo examinar em que medida os sistemas são efetivamente mais sustentáveis e identificar pontos em que se faz necessário impulsionar mudanças. Aplicou-se o método IDEA em três diferentes propriedades agrícolas de cunho familiar, no município de Rio Pomba, onde foi aplicado um questionário pelos alunos do curso de Meio Ambiente do CEFET-RP afim de facilitar a busca de informações com os produtores rurais selecionados e posterior interpretação dos dados. Procurou-se mostrar também que os indicadores de sustentabilidade são uma ferramenta útil para alunos e profissionais de Ciências Agrárias interferirem no meio rural em busca de uma agricultura sustentável. |
| Abstract: | The present work shows the importance of the method IDEA (Indicators of Sustainability in Agricultural Properties) as a didactic-pedagogic resource for the introduction of agroecology among family producers in the municipal district of Rio Pomba. That method works with sustainability indicators in the agroenvironmental, partner-territorial, and economical areas, and is based on one participative focus, by which the discussion is promoted and feedback among appraisers and students and rural producers allows one to examine the measurements in the systems are indeed maintainable and to identify points where change is necessary. With the support of the agrarian teaching organs, research institutions, and rural extension, Brazilian agriculture and consequently in the mining forest area has suffered drastically with modifications started in the 1950s. These changes have had a negative influence on the environment such as the exhaustion of natural resources, rural exodus, and economic consequences such as subsidies being cut in the area. The method applied was IDEA in three different agricultural properties in the municipal district of Rio Pomba, administered by the students of the Environment course of CEFET-RP with the objective including the method in the subject of Maintainable Development and Administration of the Family Agriculture of Technologist's course in Agroecology, that will be implanted in CEFET-RP in 2006. It is important to also show the sustainibility idicators as a useful tool for an institution to complete its role in the rural area, in order to promote and maintain sustainable agriculture. |
